The Toxic Avenger Movie Is Having A Reboot
Legendary Pictures has decided to assign Macon Blair with the screenplay and the reboot of The Toxic Avenger, a cultmovie of the trash cinema made by Troma Entertainment in 1984. Blair’sdirectorial debut, the criminal comedy I Don’t Feel at Home in This WorldAnymore, won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2017,starring Elijah Wood and Melanie Lynksey.
The Toxic Avenger reboot is coming
As an actor, instead, Blair hasparticipated in movies such as Green Room, Logan Lucky and will be part of thecast of the upcoming drama American Woman presented at the last Toronto FilmFestival.
First The Toxic Avenger was set in thetown of Tromaville, New Jersey, where a rather careless cleaner fell into atoxic waste bin that turned him into a deformed avenger, ready to fightbullies and injustice. The success of the movie produced by the legendaryLloyd Kaufman has generated three sequels, a series of cartoons and a comicbook by Marvel. Kaufman himself will work on the reboot as an executiveproducer.
