New World 2022 Roadmap Released

Amazon Game Studios explained how New World will grow in 2022. Plenty of content will be added for players this year, with new weapons, never-before-seen areas, many new missions and new mechanics. New World’s new roadmap was posted on YouTube in the form of a long, almost hour-long video where studio members reveal and explain what new features await us in the coming months. The video mainly focuses on the Heart of Madness update, which will be out later this month. It will introduce a new expedition called the Tempest Heart, alongside the Blunderbuss, a new weapon that scales with strength and intelligence.

New World 2022 Roadmap Released

Tempest Heart will bring expanded rewards for PvP arenas and PvP mode victories where players can duel three-on-three. Smaller patches will be released over the summer, with the biggest changes coming in the fall, around the first anniversary of Amazon’s MMO release. On the first anniversary, the map will be enriched with the Brimstone Sands region and the new weapon, The Greatsword. The fall update will add a new expedition, Ennead and leaderboards, as well as two events. Nightvale Hallow and Turkulon 2022 events will take place in the game.

New World 2022 Roadmap Released

Future updates are not a solution to the current woes of Amazon Game Studios, which has long struggled with decreasing player numbers and the instability of the economic system. The New World community is calling on developers for a larger amalgamation of world servers that will allow the number of people in the game to be maximized within a single world. While PvP has been the game’s biggest strength since its inception, such a focus on expeditions is also questionable. After the impressive launch (the biggest in terms of simultaneous players on Steam in 2021) and an equally spectacular player debut, time will tell if New World will find its own beat.
