Hearthstone's auto chess inspired new mode Battlegrounds has been announced at the BlizzCon 2019, and it will have eight-player matchmaking

Blizzard is literally showering the fan base at BlizzCon 2019 with announcements, and Hearthstone Battlegrounds is one of those. The new game mode is auto chess inspired and it will include 8 player matchmaking. Auto Chess-like titles have risen to popularity in recent months with the likes of Dota 2, and Leauge of Legends Teamfight Tactics.

While it is not clear how much of an inspiration the mode will pull from other titles, it seems very similar play-wise. Also, Battlegrounds will be Hearthstone's first new game mode to have major changes in gameplay. Hearthstone Battlegrounds will kick off its beta on November 12. Let's hope that this new game mode will satisfy the Hearthstone player base, and give them a new way to play digital card games.
