Assassin’s Creed Darby McDevitt is Leaving Ubisoft
Assassin’s Creed lead writer Darby McDevitt announced that he is leaving Ubisoft. McDevitt has worked in many Assassin’s Creed games to date and has been the lead writer of some Assassin’s Creed games.
McDevitt was the lead author of Assassin’s Creed games such as Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Black Flag, and Revelations. Ten years have passed since all these projects. McDevitt announced on his official Twitter account that he is leaving Ubisoft. On his tweet, he said: “Today is my last day at Ubisoft Montreal! After a decade of working with brilliant people, creating stories & characters for an incredible series, & interacting with our wonderful fans, I have decided to set forth on a new adventure. A special thanks to all the fans & content creators that have supported & expanded on our work over the years. Thank you for your kind attention! You have my deepest respect & admiration. Darby McDevitt is Leaving Ubisoft
McDevitt is known for his extensive work on the Assassin’s Creed series. He worked as a screenwriter for mobile Assassin’s Creed games such as Discovery and Bloodlines. McDevitt also worked as lead writer on the canceled 3DS game Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy. He worked as lead writer on AC: Revelations and AC 4: Black Flag, and co-writer on AC: Unity. His last project in the AC series was Assassin’ Creed: Valhalla. McDevitt had served as narrative director for Valhalla. Drawing attention with his departure from Ubisoft, McDevitt worked on two of the most successful games in the AC series, AC: Black Flag and AC: Valhalla.
There is no clear information about the future of Assassin’s Creed series. The story of Valhalla is still incomplete. Two DLC packages are expected to be released to complete the story. Finally, Netflix and Ubisoft announced that a new Assassins Creed anime from the makers of the Castlevania series is on the way.
