Bungie is leaving from Activision, taking Destiny rights

The creator of Halo and Destiny series, Bungie is ending its partnership with Activison. Also Bungie will keep rights of Destiny franchises.

Bungie is leaving from Activision and taking Destiny rights with them

The developer Bungie is leaving from Activision. Bungie and Activision was in a partnership since 2010. 

“We have enjoyed a successful eight-year run and would like to thank Activision for their partnership on Destiny. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie. With our remarkable Destiny community, we are ready to publish on our own, while Activision will increase their focus on owned IP projects.” Bungie stated in their website.

According to statement, the process is already underway in the early stages. Bungie also stated that they will continue to add more content for Destiny 2. What do you think about that separation? Can Bungie handle self publishing of Destiny 2? Share your thoughts with us.
