Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the Dark Souls series, won the 2018 Golden Joystick Awards lifetime achievement award. Hidetaka, president of From Software which made Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice, won the award at the Golden Joystick Awards in London. Miyazaki received a lifetime achievement award
With the Souls game series, Hidetaka Miyazaki, who created his own game genre and inspired many of the games that followed, was given a lifetime achievement award. Miyazaki also gave a speech while thanking the players. Miyazaki made the following statements; "It’s thanks to you, all the players, that I have been able to carry on making games with the one simple goal of making games that are interesting. And I am so glad to have been able to make games in these exciting times with all of you.”
