Shawn Layden and Playstation have parted ways
After 32 years of collaboration, Sony Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden will be departing from Sony Entertainment. The news was announced on the official Twitter account of Playstation. The tweet wrote “It is with great emotion that we announce that Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden will be departing SIE. His visionary leadership will be greatly missed.”
Shawn Layden started working for Sony back in 1987. He was a part of the corporate communications department. After years of hard work, Layden became the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan in October 2007. 3 years later in 2010, Layden became a founding member and CEO of Sony Network Entertainment International. In 2018 he was announced as the chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios. Under his management, Playstation had one of its best era’s releasing critically acclaimed games like God of War, Spider-Man, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.
