Steam’s Lunar New Year Sale is live
One of the biggest annual sales on Steam, Lunar New Year Sale, has just begun last night and it has some great deals. Lunar New Year is the beginning of the new year on the traditional Chinese calendar and this year marks the year of the rat. In celebration, Steam annually kicks off its special sale a day before the Lunar New Year.

Aside from the usual discounted games, Steam also has an event this time. Each day during the sale, users will receive a special gift that generally includes tokens that you can spend in the Lunar New Year Night Market to buy yourself emotes, profile animations, backgrounds and more. If you save enough tokens you can even receive a $5 discount coupon.
To earn more coupons than your daily gift during the sale, you must shop and buy games. Each currency unit you’ll spend equals roughly 17 Lunar New Year tokens. Chinese Lunar New Year begins tomorrow and we wish you all a great year of the rat!
