CEO of Epic Games shared some information about the game

The launch of Apex Legends did not affect Fortnite’s growth and its place as the most popular game at the moment. Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, recently dropped some information about the state of Unreal Engine and Fortnite. First and foremost, the director revealed that Fortnite increased its number of registered players to 250 million, therefore reaffirming its position as most popular game at the moment.

Fortnite reaches 250 million players

The battle royale game hasn’t seen a drop off because of the rival EA’s popular Apex Legends. Sweeney added that the only game you can see where its peaks cut into Fortnite playtime is FIFA, a game for everybody which wildly popular around the world. The popularity of the game is also amplified by the fact that Fortnite can be played from PlayStation 4, XboxOne, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.

Interesting fact is that among the millions of players a 35% are women, unusual situation in video games. The success of Fortnite will enable Epic Games to set up a new $100 million fund for Unreal Mega Grants for game developers.
