Great recession in the physical game sales of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

There is a big decrease in the physical game sales

Ubisoft couldn’t find what they were expecting on the physical game sales of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, from the release date of October 5th. There has been a 25% recession on the physical game sales on the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, compared to the Assassin’s Creed Origins. But we must also note that this recession is only affecting the physical game sales. The digital game sales of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will probably compensate that recession.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey sold 25% less compared to the Origins.

It is clear that the digital game sales are on the rise. The same situation applied to the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as well. The physical game sales of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey sold 25% less than the last years game, Assassin’s Creed Origins. This trend may lead the companies to release less physical copies of their games. Even though this recession, on the week of its release, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey managed to climb its way up to the second rank on the most selling games out of 40, in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, Super Mario Party, a game that released a week ago, is coming as the 5th game on the same list while the Fist of The North Star: Lost Paradise coming as the 21st.
