Hearthstone Forged in the Barrens Expansion is Out

Hearthstone Forged in the Barrens has begun with new cards and with the Year of the Griffon. Set in one of the iconic areas of World of Warcraft, Forged in the Barrens comes with 135 cards that reveal beloved stories, unforgettable characters and dangerous adventures.

To survive this challenge, players must take advantage of all the possibilities that Barrens has to offer them. Introducing the new Fury (Frenzy) effect with the new expansion, the new effect offers powerful attributes for the first time minions survive damage. Players will also be able to add ranked spells to their decks, which gain power when they reach 5 mana and take their final form when they have 10 mana crystals. Spell Schools has been permanently added to many spell cards, increasing the number of possible synergies. Finally, 10 legendary mercenary minions, one for each class, will take their place in Hearthstone with the Forged in the Barrens expansion. We will learn the stories of these characters throughout the Year of the Grifon.

President of Blizzard Entertainment, J. Allen Brack said: “Forged in the Barrens evokes some of Warcraft ’s most iconic stories and themes. And the new cards it brings will infuse the game with the spirit and fury of the Horde. Along with the new Core set, you couldn’t ask for a more rousing start for the Year of the Gryphon.”.

Free for all players to unlock as they level up, the Hearthstone Core set replaces the existing Basic and Classic sets with a collection of 235 cards. The Main set, which is planned to evolve with Hearthstone, will be updated annually, providing a solid foundation for players. And It will support both new and returning players.
