Horizon: Zero Dawn’s executive producer dies at 44

Patrick Munnik, the executive producer of Guerrilla Games, died at the age of 44. Guerilla Games developers who share the sad news on Twitter are devastated with the loss of Patrick. They have stated that: “It is with great shock and sadness we inform you that our lead producer Patrick Munnik is no longer with us. We are eternally grateful to have had our greatly valued and much loved Patrick on our team.’’

Patrick Munnik, who joined the Guerilla Games in 2011, was an important name for both the company and Sony. The developer, who worked in successful games like Killzone: Shadowfall and Horizon Zero Dawn, played a particularly important role in Horizon Zero Dawn’s success. The next generation PlayStation will also feature a new Horizon Zero Dawn game however it is still unknown how the company will react to the loss of Patrick Munnik.
