MCW Barcelona 2020 canceled
The coronavirus also made its mark on MCW Barcelona 2020. The congress was canceled. The fate of the MCW Barcelona 2020 congress, in which technology giants decided not to attend due to coronavirus, has been determined. It was stated that GSMA management discussed the cancellation decision is made with the city administration of Barcelona where the fair and congress will be held.

The fate of the MCW Barcelona 2020 congress, in which technology giants decided not to attend due to coronavirus, has been determined. Organizing the MCW Barcelona 2020 event, which is planned to be held between 24 and 27 February, GSMA stated that the congress was canceled by making the official announcement for the congress, where more than 100 thousand participants are expected.
Here is the explanation released by the GSMA;
12 February 2020, Barcelona: Since the first edition of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in 2006, the GSMA has convened the industry, governments, ministers, policymakers, operators and industry leaders across the broader ecosystem.
With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has canceled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event. The Host City Parties respect and understand this decision.
The GSMA and the Host City Parties will continue to be working in unison and supporting each other for MWC Barcelona 2021 and future editions.
