Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 seems to keep PS5 users waiting a little longer. With an announcement, the developer said that the game’s release date was postponed for PlayStation 5. However, for other platforms it will be released on June 4th, as planned.
According to a statement shared by developer CI Games on social media channels, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will be released as scheduled on June 4 on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. However, they say that due to the recently discovered “unexpected” technical problems, it is not possible for the PS5 version to release on this date. Still, the developer said to compensate for the delay, all PS4 versions will include a free PS5 upgrade. And “will be available to download so PS5 users can enjoy the game on June 4th.”

In other words, we understand that players cannot play the game with the extras of the next generation console on the release day. But they can still get the PS4 version and manage it until the PS5 version is released. When the new generation version is released, they will be able to switch to the next generation version. So they can take advantage of the console with a free upgrade.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will Release A Little Later for PS5
The developer also underlined its goodwill towards players by releasing the first major DLC free of charge for all players of all versions. In a statement, they said:. “Once again, we would like to sincerely apologise for the delay. And assure you, our valued community, that we are doing everything to resolve it as soon as feasibly possible. But with equal consideration for our already hard-working team.”.
It looks like PS5 users will have to wait a little longer for the Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 PlayStation 5 release. But they will be able to get the PS4 version and dive into the game on release day.
