Game developer and publisher Riot Games made special statements for the 1st anniversary of the PC game VALORANT, which is very popular all over the world. Explaining that an average of 14 million PC players enters the game every month to play VALORANT all over the world, the company announced that more than half a billion matches took place in 1 year. Riot’s free-to-play FPS game was released for the PC platform on June 2, 2020.

VALORANT, which was presented to global players after the record-breaking closed beta process, quickly reached a global fan base by showing that VALORANT is one of the remarkable FPS games on PC. During the game’s first year, VALORANT players played over half a billion matches in team-based shooter gameplay.

Less than a year after VALORANT’s debut in 2020, Riot supported the growing competitive leg of the game by announcing the VALORANT Champions Tour. The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), a year-long global tournament, has three different tournament stages: Challengers, Masters and Champions. The second biggest event of the 2021 Champions Tour and VALORANT’s first major international tournament, VCT Masters II. The phase was held last week in Reykjavik, Iceland. According to initial reports, the final match between the Sentinels and Fnatic reached more than 1M simultaneous viewers and an average of over 800,000 viewers per minute.
Special rewards await players
In honour of VALORANT’s first year, Riot will hold a month-long celebration event for VALORANT players and fans, during which they will offer in-game rewards and incentives to community members. Throughout the month of June, the VALORANT community will receive exclusive digital content such as an heirloom player card and an event-exclusive Battle Pass.
