Independent developer Fatshark today announced that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has broken all expectations with over two million players from March 8 to December 31, 2018.
“We are humbled by the reception of Vermintide 2, and the amount of hours spent on showing Skaven and Chaos who’s the boss” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. “We want to thank all the players, and we aim to bring more exciting – and perhaps unexpected – content throughout 2019.”
Since the release of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on March 8, 2018, there has been a large number of free updates. Everything from challenges to weapons and cosmetics, as well as seasonal events, double XP, and Night Mode amongst others.
Two DLCs have been released during 2018. The first, Shadows over Bogenhafen, was released in August, and the latest, Back to Ubersreik, was released in December.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has since its release on PC, also made it to consoles. The Xbox One version was released in July, and the game launched on Playstation 4 in December. Everything released on PC is also available on consoles, including DLCs.
“It’s been a great year for Fatshark and Warhammer: Vermintide 2. During the last days of 2018, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was part of a lot of ‘Best of’ lists, and we received several awards” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark “We also want to tip our hats to the streamers for the millions upon millions of hours broadcasted”.
This year will bring a lot of new content to the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 players. Fatshark recommends circling March 8 in the calendar, and joining them for the one year anniversary of Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
