Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered Review
Everybody knows Ghostbusters, one of the legendary examples of Hollywood cinema in the 80s. In the same period, the successful production of paranormal horror films that approached from a very different angle narrated this genre with humorous language entered our lives with animations and plays. The film makers, who made a Ghostbusters film that changed the main characters in the past years, have not received much positive criticism. The game, similar to the movie was almost inserted into the bottom of the ground. However, Ghostbusters The Video Game, which appeared in the previous generation, was loved by the fans of the series. Now, after a full 10 years, we are facing a revised version of Ghostbusters The Video Game.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered PC Review
The game, named Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, aims to introduce the Ghostbusters brand to a new generation of players and give the old fans a sense of nostalgia. So how far did the developers’ purpose go to us? Let’s examine closely.
First of all, if you’re an admirer of the series, you’ll need to know that this game is the most original and loyal to the series of Ghostbusters game ever made. For this reason, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, when it was released, received positive reviews from major segments. But as a player who has experienced a revamped version of a game, I didn’t see a change in Ghostbusters: The Video Game. We begin the story as a ghost hunter who has just joined the team.
I experienced Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC platform. Only the graphics of the production, which has remained the same in terms of gameplay, have been improved. The developer team, which has brought in-game graphics to the present day, has managed to give what is expected from it. In addition to the character details, the filmmakers redesigned every object, making Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered look pleasing. Developers who do not add anything new to the game on the animation side are bound to the basics in this part. If you played the first game, you will remember that the animations were a bit cumbersome. Unfortunately, this version also affects the gameplay.
In addition, it is worth noting that the cinematic scenes that we encounter between the sections are not overhauled. Only the resolution of the intermediate scenes from the previous generation has increased. Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which gets its share from the so-called grind on the gameplay side can, unfortunately, bore the player after a while. We find ghosts from paranormal objects with the PKE device then we kill them with our gun and confine them in our trap. The production, which does not refer to the puzzle element except for specific ghosts in capturing ghosts, proceeds in general terms. We can only complete the task by solving puzzles with ghosts that are important in the story. Sedgewick Hotel, New York Public Library and Times Square in the series, such as frequently encountered in the game characters, actors in the film acted.
It is fun to play with characters such as Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and William Atherton. It is also a nice detail that Ghostbusters’ unique style of humour is directly reflected in the game. However, this style of humour which is a thing of the past may not appeal to the new generation of players. The biggest minus of the revised version of the game is that the interface is left the same. Personally, I would have expected this interface style to be changed in the new version of the game, even if it is already old.
