NBA 2K21 Update 1.10 Corrupts UserData. Here is a Temporary Fix

With the release of NBA 2K21 Update 1.10, players report that their save files are getting corrupt. However, there is a temporary fix from the officials.

NBA 2K21 Update 1.10 brings an annoying issue

We learn this issue from Reddit as always. A player came out saying that with the NBA 2K21 Update 1.10, his save files got corrupt and cannot recover. After the user’s post, many players also came up saying that they have the same issue on PC. It seems like this issue is only about the MyCareer save file. The officials came up with a temporary fix about the issue.

When we take a look at the patch notes, we cannot see any specific information about this update. But recently, an update came out for the PS4 version of the game. We think that this update was supposed to increase performance on PC. However, things didn’t go well. Official fix from the developers

Hello, everyone!

We know some NBA 2K21 players are receiving an error message that reads “‘UserData’ file has been corrupted and is unable to be loaded.”

This error message appears after the reserved space was cleared.

If you don’t know what reserved space is, please read up on it with this article.

Reserved space data will be re-downloaded by the game, but if the process is canceled (after the game rebooted), you’ll no longer be able to play any online modes or access any of their online connected files.

To ensure that the data is downloaded correctly, please attempt the following:

  1. Load the game.
  2. Select the Play Now option. Do NOT head into a game.
    • Don’t you do it.
  3. Please stay on that menu.

If you’re playing on a PlayStation 4, you can leave your console in Rest Mode while the data is downloading.

After a few hours (or longer, depending on your internet connection), you will receive a notification in yellow font on the bottom left of your screen telling you to return to the main menu. Once you do, your game will be fully updated and your reserved data will be reinstalled.

We can’t stress this enough: Do not delete a game’s reserved space on your hard drive.

A couple of hours ago, the developers came out with a hotfix for the NBA 2K21 Update 1.10. But some players claim that this did not solve the problem either.
