Rockstar Games, criticized for having no strong female characters in their games, want to respond to this situation with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar responds to criticism about weak female characters

One of the founders of Rockstar Games, Dan Houser, who gave an interview on this topic, underlined that Red Dead Redemption 2 contains strong female characters. Dan Houser stated that the rights of women in America began to sprout in the period that Red Dead Redemption 2 sets in. Women in the game will begin to discover their role in society. Dan Houser said “It was a time when women were beginning to question [their roles], and the Wild West was an area where people could invent themselves for the first time; many of the people who were inventing themselves were women. They were no longer constrained by society, because there was no society”.
