World of Tanks Steam Version is Under Heavy Criticism

World of Tanks is available on the Steam platform as of now. However, the veteran players are not happy about this situation.

Players cannot carry progress to the Steam version of World of Tanks

For years, the World of Tanks has its own launcher that makes you launch the game. But this changed recently. Because World of Tanks is available on the Steam platform. The Steam version is particularly the same as the old client version. There is also cross-platform support on the Steam version. However, the veteran players are angry at the developers. Because when the players want to carry over progress to Steam, they just can’t. Because the game doesn’t allow you to carry over progress from the WoT client.

Long story short: If you want to continue World of Tanks via Steam, you need to start from scratch. This made the players very angry. And when we take a look at the user reviews on Steam, we can see that the reviews are ‘mixed’. The community doesn’t seem to be happy with this decision given by Wargaming. Most of the negative reviews are just like this: ”I’ve been playing this game for years but cannot carry over my progress. This is a shame for all of us.”.

World of Tanks Steam Version is Under Heavy Criticism

But here is another odd situation. You can carry over your progress on World of Warships. And that is also another Wargaming product. It is also particularly the same as World of Tanks, only the naval one. This is pretty interesting. We don’t know why the developers gave such a decision. Maybe they will change this issue in the future. We will see how the Steam version of World of Tanks will evolve. But we don’t think that veteran players will eventually prefer Steam. Because the game is active on its own client for almost 10 years.
