Paramount Pictures and Sega Sammy officially announced Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie. Out blue hedgehog friend will be on the big screen next year according to Paramount. The movie will release on April 8, 2022 if everything goes on plan.
Official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account also released a trailer to announce the movie. They said: “Groundbreaking. Thought provoking. Extremely obvious. Presenting the official title of the SonicMovie sequel: Sonic the Hedgehog 2! Catch SonicMovie2 in theatres in 2022.”. But there is no details in the trailer. We just see blue blurry images and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 title. On the title, we see two tails. The movie is set to begin filming in March. The movie is still in the development stage so decisions have not been made yet regarding casting. The video game based movie’s first part released in February last year. Sonic was among hosts of films released early for home entertainment after cinemas across the world shut due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie
In the first Sonic The Hedgehog movie, Jim Carrey and James Marsden were starring. After the success of the first movie (sixth highest-grossing release of 2020), a sequel was inevitable. The first movie became the second video game adaptation in history to score a Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. According to some rumors, Knuckles the Echidna could also end up with a substantial part in the sequel, along with a mysterious human character named Randall. It is wondered that what actor is tapped to voice Knuckles.
